YOU BEAUTY BOX • MARCH 201612:00
This month, I received my first beauty subscription box from You Beauty. I've always wanted to try one but the others were a little too pricey for me. Luckily, the You Beauty Boxes are only £6.95 per month, with free p&p for members. I estimated the cost of this month's box to be around £10.84, which saves me £3.89!
If you aren't familiar with You Beauty, it's a little different to your typical subscription boxes. Each month you get to pick two items from their monthly shortlist, so what you get isn't a complete surprise. I'm not sure about you but personally I love this, as I know I'll definitely be getting something I want. Then, you receive an extra 2-3 items that they pick out for you too.
From this month's shortlist, I chose a make up blending sponge and a mini skincare duo. The surprise items I received were a face mask duo and a leave in conditioner. Below are mini reviews/first impressions for each of them:
1. Moisture Seal Hair Healer (£5.99, 200 ml)
I like to use leave in conditioners as I find it makes my hair feel really smooth after blow drying it. Also, it helps to stop my hair from becoming too wavy and keeps it reasonably straight. I enjoyed using this Charles Worthington one as not only does a little product go a long way, but it left my hair feeling super soft.
2. Rosie Glow & Dead Sea Cooler Deep Cleansing Face Mask Duo (£1.20)
I used the Dead Sea Cooler mask this week and found it really refreshing when it was on. Unfortunately, that is the only good thing I can say about it as when I first applied it, it stung a little (mint is a main ingredient). Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it if you have sensitive skin. Also, I didn't really feel much difference in my skin after washing it off as I usually do with other masks I have tried. Hopefully, the Rosie Glow is much better - I'll keep you all updated on Twitter!
3. 4 in 1 Makeup Blending Sponge (£5.95)
I've never used a sponge to apply make up before so I was curious to try this one from Nanshy. I've only used it a couple of times but am very impressed so far! I was sceptical about the 'stipple effect' technique they recommended but it actually works really well. Covered up my eye bags in no time.
4. Morning Clear Facial Wash & Morning Dew Moisturiser Duo (£4.95, 100 ml)
I'm not really keen on the face wash as the texture doesn't feel right for me; it's very creamy and leaves my skin feeling a little oily after. Therefore, I would only recommended it if you have dry skin as I assume it would be more beneficial to you. However, I liked the moisturiser as it's the complete opposite and feels really nice on my skin. Both products contain 95% natural plant extracts and no harsh chemicals, so is great for sensitive skin.
If you subscribe to a beauty box, I'd love to hear what you got this month. Maybe leave a blog link if you've written a post? If not, what new products have you discovered lately? xo
